Personality: At first glance it probably seems that Zelgadis has the personality of a tree stump, the perfect foil to Lina and the party’s fun. It’s actually the furthest thing from the truth. There are some, obvious, kill-joy aspects to his personality, for example, he can be a bit selfish at times (though I wouldn’t say nearly as much as Lina). He has the tendency to put his own personal problems on a pedestal above everyone else’s and nine times out of ten his problem is his appearance. It could also be said that Zelgadis has a self-image issue, apparent through his determination to transform himself back into a human. In this pursuit Zelgadis is very focused, he likes to stay on course and becomes easily frustrated when the group strays from whatever current mission they’re on for a reason as silly as an all-you-can-eat-for-a-silver-coin feast. Zelgadis can also be commanding if he needs to be just to get things done and he wouldn’t hesitate for a moment in using people (even allies) to his own devices. When it comes to his skill as a sorcerer and a swordsman Zelgadis is confident almost to the point of arrogance, he simply knows he’s strong. He’s also the quiet, distant, lone-wolf sort of guy and if he feels the need to he will abandon his companions and set out on his own -- something he does from time to time. Zelgadis also has a rather cute side as well, he’s shy when it comes to romance and it doesn’t take much to make him blush either.
Anything else important about the character?: Zelgadis is a Chimera -- 1/3 human, 1/3 brau demon (drow I imagine), and 1/3 golem. Due to his desire to be powerful he was transformed into a Chimera by Rezo the Red Priest (his grandfather or great-grandfather) and while he managed to attain the power he desired Zelgadis despises his appearance. Zelgadis likes to refer to himself as: a dark (but not too dark), mysterious, and daring swordsman. Zel weighs 1 ton. Zel uses black, white, and shamanistic magic. He's also fast, strong and a skilled swordsman. His mums-the-word abilities consist of safecracking and lock-picking. His weakness is his appearance so he is prone to insults and becomes aggressive when it comes to finding spells to reverse his transformation.
